Form and Structure: The first half of our Research Essay is basically a profile

Form and Structure: The first half of our Research Essay is basically a profile, but instead of developing a theme around a notable element of the place, you should present a thesis statement in the introduction and emphasize the importance of this place in terms of its preservation. Why is it important that this place continues to exist? What is a significant threat to its existence or well being?
The second half of your Research Essay should persuasively present the issue facing your topic. What is the history of this issue? How does this issue impact or threaten your park/place? Where does it stand now? You will be assessed on your ability to think and write critically here; as well, you should be able to persuade your reader that your park needs protection. While persuasion should be highlighted in the second half of the essay, don’t miss opportunities to use the rhetorical strategies during the profile section using detail and description, anecdote, and personal experience. All of these expository elements become persuasive tools in the Research Assignment.
Requirements: Your essay must be at least 6 pages long and include material from at least six sources. Outside material should come from reputable and professional sources; they should not be encyclopedias—online or otherwise—or websites with few references. Additionally, you will be required to conduct primary research in the form of a short interview concerning the issue facing your park. Your interview will count as one of your six required sources. See our separate interview assignment for details in next week’s lesson.

If you don’t have meat, you can use ground beans.

In my opinion, Panamanian tamales are the most delicious in the world since organic ingredients typical of the country are used and at the same time very healthy for your body.
This recipe is highly appreciated by young and old Panamanians as it complements a healthy diet. This popular foil-wrapped tamale is most often made for Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Tamales are made in different ways and any type of meat is used. You can cook them with backyard chicken, pork even if you don’t like meat, you can use beans if you are a vegetarian. The use of banana leaves is not essential for this recipe if you can’t get it, it’s fine to do without. Many people eat it in different ways or however they can.
This tamale takes different processes, which means that it takes around five hours to be prepared. You start by cooking the meat you chose well until it is soft, put enough water in it so that you have enough juice left. We use the juice that remains from the meat to stir the corn dough so that it has flavor. We shredded the meat that you sewed and added the peas. If you don’t have meat, you can use ground beans. If you want to eat tamales, you must wait for this long process.
You can also change the ingredients of this recipe of course if you omit the cornmeal of course. In my tamales I use aji de patio, white onion, Panamanian cilantro, garlic, raisins, peas, chili and oregano. For the wrapper, I boil the banana leaves for 30 minutes with only salt and I clean the bijou leaves well. The corn dough must have a similar texture to butter. The flavor is like stewed meat, depending on the typical ingredients of the country.
Panamanian tamales are the best I have been able to eat in my life. If I could eat tamales every day, well, I would because I really like them very much since there are different types of meat and vegetables that give them the different flavors that a good tamale has.
