How to get your teams to work.

This week, your assignment is to apply all that you have learned, along with your ability to do research on how best to manage within the organizational context, to develop a plan to manage the performance of your work teams and the individuals of which those teams are composed. As you well know by now, only well performing teams actually yield the benefits associated with teams in the workplace, so it is paramount that you understand how to manage team performance. On the other hand, many of the contingencies that a manager controls are actually individually focused, and for this reason, we traditionally have been focused on evaluation of individuals in our review and incentive processes. Please note the potential for misalignment between individual evaluation and team performance. Your assignment is to develop a process that you could actually use to manage the performance of both teams and individuals in a workplace for which you have managerial responsibility. Remember that this must be submitted in PDF format and must make use of your course materials as well as library research.

Some possible starting points in your research:

Summarize the key takeaways from the 2018 10K’s Net Sales section and the Operating Income (Loss) section, which starts on page 23 and goes to the bottom of page 24. In 250-500 words, briefly summarize what Amazon reported for 2018 and then provide your assessment of the three most important takeaways from the information. Note that the short summary of what Amazon said is essentially factual (according to Amazon), but we want your opinion over what is the most important aspect of what they are reporting. Your analysis can look at what they reported as well as what they do not report, i.e., information that you think would be relevant but which is missing from these sections.

The stakeholders in this situation are apple company, apple consumers, the employees, and the fbi.

Use the attached sources to respond to the discussion.
The stakeholders in this situation are Apple Company, Apple consumers, the employees, and the FBI. If apple does indeed choose to work with the FBI, the privacy and security of the consumers are jeopardized. All the Apple consumers should trust that the company will take all measures to protect their privacy. If this was a potential terrorist attack, Americans would want their safety protected by the government. With this situation stakeholders has an influence on the decisions that Apple will make because of their support for the Apple products they invest in.
The decision that would benefit the greatest would be to not allow Apple to have a backdoor encryption implemented to gain access to anyone’s personal devices. If a backdoor, once created, could fall into the wrong hands and threaten the privacy of all iPhone owners (UMGC n.d, 2022). If Apple created a backdoor that had the ability to bypass all security measures, this would put its users at a security risk. Many people use their phones for keeping data like passwords to various accounts, and even personal medical information. Our mobile devices are small digital assistants that carry as much—if not more—very personal information as our desktop or laptop (LearnVest, 2021).
The decision that leads me to utilitarianism is to protect Apple users and their security and privacy. Utilitarianism is a moral principle that holds that the morally right course of action in any situation is the one that produces the greatest balance of benefits over harms for everyone affected (University, S. C. n.d, 2022). With this decision I believe that all the users will be very grateful. I do also think that national security is important as well, with this being said I would want law enforcement to try and do everything in their power to prevent this.
The outcome for me would be the same as utilitarianism. Unlike Utilitarianism, Rights theory is focused on an individual’s rights, not the betterment of society. It is concerned with treating people as an ends, not a means to an end (Approach, R. n.d., 2022) The fairness and justice approach I believe would be in the favor of the government that would approve of the government to access the devices of users needed for security investigation.

In their 2018 10-k filing, on page 37 they show the consolidated statement of operations which is their profit-and-loss statement (commonly referred to as the income statement).

On pages 18-19 of the 2018 Amazon 10-K filing, there is a section labeled “Overview” in which Amazon basically describes where they focus their financial attention, and in the discussion that follows they outline some of the things that affect their cash flows and reported profits. On page 22 of the textbook, in the second paragraph after the heading The Ability to Use Numbers and Financial Tools to Make and Analyze Decision, the authors caution “We’ll start with the basic fact that cash and profit are different.” We will come back to this in a future module, but for now, let’s look a little closer at that statement as it pertains to Amazon. In their 2018 10-K filing, on page 37 they show the Consolidated Statement of Operations which is their profit-and-loss statement (commonly referred to as the Income Statement). Net income is the total revenue minus the total expenses and is the “bottom line” profit for the firm. Compare what they are reporting as profit for 2016, 2017, and 2018 to the amount of free cash flow they are reporting on page 29 for the same time periods. Compare and contrast the net profit and the free cash flow for 2016, 2017, and 2018 Which of those measures is Amazon more focused on, according to page 18 of their 10-K filing?

End of life product list (include products to be discontinued and products that will be updated to a new version)

M4A2 Team Project: Product Portfolio
Based on the overall products in the case study create a document that looks at the life cycle of the products based on sales and service and determine if these products should or should not be retired, redeveloped, or new products should be created to replace them completely. In addition, write a proposal on what you believe should be the new strategy for products going forward. Please remember to justify your position.
Product Portfolio Case Study
Since our inception, we have maintained a very strong product line with top notch product development efforts. In the third Quarter of last year, in an effort to transition into a full service provider for existing customers, IRSC BAS Inc. expanded our support to include third party products. This level of service included systems, networks, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
In addition, we began providing consulting services to meet the advancing growth of our customer base. Despite being a leader in the industry, as of late, our product quality has begun to decrease. It appears that we have taken on too many new ventures and are now struggling to push a product from development to deployment. In addition, we are failing to support our customers effectively. We need to determine what is missing in our process to get products to market and successfully support them. We need a new plan to turn this trend around and become, once again, a true industry leader.
Team Documentation Expectations:
Revised Product Portfolio (What we should and should not be supporting – Must include at least 1 new product)
Project Management Process (Specific to this proposal)
Revised Service Portfolio (Address 3rd party product servicing, our other services and any newly proposed services)
Organizational Update (Address the issue and include updated org. chart)
End of Life product list (Include products to be discontinued and products that will be updated to a new version)
Revised Mission/Vision statement (encompass our new direction)
APA formatted
750 Word Minimum
