The use of sexual expression in U.S. advertising can be traced back to the mid-1800s. Manufacturers realized early on that sensual illustrations of women attracted attention and generated sales. The general public since then, however, has had mixed feelings and often fought against the use of provocative, indecent, or even obscene imagery in ads.

Sexual expression as an attention-grabbing strategy is effective and pervasive. The boundaries continue to be pushed in popular TV sitcoms and on Netflix and YouTube, but the internet is largely an untamed territory. While it harbors adult content, the devices to limit minors’ access remain questionable.
In this discussion, consider the use of sexual expression in the media. Think about your own experience as a consumer of goods and media and the advertising campaigns you have seen that use sexual expression. Consider ads for fragrances, beauty products, undergarments, and television shows.
Use the above to answer these questions:
In your initial post, describe the challenges faced by lawmakers and organizations such as the FCC in regulating obscene and indecent content by addressing the following:
Why is defining obscenity and indecency problematic?
What are the consequences of a greater availability of obscene or indecent materials? What are individuals to make of these concerns?
In keeping with the requirements of the First Amendment, what is your assessment of the role of the government and the FCC? Do they play a necessary and appropriate role?
Please use PDF file to answer the two students back with the questions above. This is separate from the Above Post post.
In your responses to two or more peers, address the following:
What important considerations regarding the FCC and obscene and indecent content will you need to be mindful of as a professional communicator?
How do technology and changing sociocultural mores impact what is considered acceptable in the media?
How do ethics and social responsibility impact the regulation of media content?
Please use PDF file to answer the two students back with the questions above. This is separate from the initial post.

Explain the tax laws that support your client’s claims for deducting the travel and entertainment expenses.

You are an accountant preparing tax returns for your client. After you file their taxes, the IRS selects your client for an audit. The IRS disputed two items deducted in the tax
returns filed by your client: travel expenses and entertainment expenses. After talking with your client, you are sure that your client is correct, and that the IRS’s position is not. You must provide a defense for the client that requires you to research the issues in order
to render an educated opinion on a course of action for your client. Note: You may create and/or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
Instructions
Part 1
Write a 2–3 page paper in which you:
Prepare a defensible strategy for your client by using the six steps in the tax research process.
Explain the tax laws that support your client’s claims for deducting the travel and entertainment expenses.
Create a fact-based argument that you plan to propose to the client as a defense of their position with the IRS.
Identify one circumstance that the IRS could use to discredit your client’s position.
Prepare a response to the IRS counter argument you identified above. Provide a rationale for how you arrived at the response.
Cite at least one reference from the IRS website or related official publications to support your argument. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality academic sources. You have access to Strayer University’s Online Library and iCampus University Library Research page.
Part 2
Write a 1–2 page letter in which you: Outline the key arguments in support of your client’s position.
Base your arguments on the fact-based research you performed in Part 1.
